Rise and shine Loves! As you all may know vacation season is getting closer, summer is heating up and so are your plans to travel the world! Today I want to share with you my favorite 5 destinations that you need to visit as soon as possible.
These recommendations are all from those special places that have left a mark on me, so let's get straight to the point
1. From America to the world..
New York city has it all!
I could say that the #1 reason of why I love New York so much it's probably because this city has everything, mostly no one will ever be able to say that they know entirely New York, you could go over and over again and always plan a different trip, just because the versatility out there is enormous! a fun fact is that you could go out for dinner every night for 54 years and never visit the same place twice! Yes, I'm like Wow too.
One of my favorite things about summer time is planning picnic's at central park as also going to the 5th avenue or just going out for a walk, to go grab a coffee, visit the library and then sitting at the Bryant Park ... this is like heaven to me.
If you are planning to visit and it's your first time, tourist tours could be very fun too!! I recommend you the second floor of the bus because the first one is just too boring!! you will sit there to meet all around, specially those gigantic buildings fulled up of advertisements.. well this is so New York!! and that is what I love the most. So just like Alicia Keys said, the light and the streets.. Yes, they will make you feel brand new.
2. My dear
Paris!
To me, this special city will embrace you only to big things. Paris is very different than America, everything there is so classic and antique that makes you remain to the very old times, the arquitecture is very distinctive, but yet very beautiful.
My recommendation is to: please go to Café de Flore on the morning and then stop by a boulangerie, buy french bread, take nutella with you and then go to the Eiffel Tour of course with some champagne and have a blast!
After that you could go to Champs Elysées do some shopping, then stop for lunch at l'entrecote and after that go sit on a bench while you are in Jardin des Tuileries and very important don't ever forget Montmartre, is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my life.
3. Favorite warm and tropical city:
Cartagena
As a Colombian girl, my best getaways are always there. Is actually very common that you always want to remain longer because this city is magical!! From the story that it has to the spectacular beaches as Baru and those streets that will stole your heart like la Ciudad amurallada and the most delicious gastronomy, this city has so much to offer!.. A very touristic charm to keep you delighted for always coming back.
My recommendation is to get to know amazing restaurants, this is what I always do when I'm with my family; try Vera by Silvia Tcherassi, Harry Sasson and El Gobernador, these are my current favorites. Also if you stay on the beach order Caribbean typical food as fish with coconut rice, which is my favorite by the way and don't forget to try a well done coctel de camarones with a cold coke in your hand and if you still have place try some coconut water to refresh and by night go for a walk around La ciudad amurallada and after that don't mind to visit Mila, she has the best desserts in the city.
4. Romantic and unique as
Venice is!
This City is way better from what you could ever dream, like when you are there.. pinching yourself it's mandatory, believe me.. it totally takes your breath away.
Besides of the fact that it keeps you eating pasta and ice cream 24/7 like really what is better than that?.. Well you could find the cutest Italian corners fulled up of local mask stores that are beyond!
As you may know the gondola ride is a must, take champagne with you and off course your camera! The rule is that they should be a maximum of 4 to 5 people by gondola.
All your plans basically depends on the people that are going with you, I think that half of people that visit Venice are on their Honeymoon, obviously that was not my case, I went with a Russian friend on the autumn break and was a very fun trip.
5. The amazing
Prague
After a fun week in Oktoberfest at Germany my friends and I decided that Prague was the proper destination!
Prague it's totally different than the other cities in Europe, first is way more cheaper and second they don't have the Euro currency, they manage Czech Crowns so try to exchange your money at the airport or special companies in charge, this the safest way to avoid other people rob you outside.
In Prague you are going to find the most beautiful crystal stores, they have everything in Swarovski elements as also the chiquest cafe's you could ever meet! Don't forget to go for a stroll in all of the most historical cathedrals from all times as you pass by, please mind to have your own Trdelnik!! One of the yummiest pastries I've tried in my whole life!!
Thanks for reading and always remember: to travel is to live.
