Where to Shop Summer Dresses

I clearly have a thing for white.
This color it's my main thing when it comes to getting dressed, styling my home and even my Instagram feed.
Truth is, white makes everything better, it accentuates the tones and everything overall.

I got this dress from a Vancouver based brand Finding July, I meet their owner, Zoe, in a pop-up store event and I was amazed by their unique pieces,  what I love about it is that she brings a lot of different and unique styles and not too many quantities of it so it's more exclusive and their prices are very affordable.
Honestly, there is no much to say about this look, pictures speak from itself, this dress is magical from every point of view, the fabric, style and little details like the sleeves make this outfit effortless to style but it looks so well put together once you get dressed.

Best Products For Your Waves - Meet The Ouai

Back to my teenage days, I remember how I started to develop this addiction to hair products. Not to be kidding but I've tried thousands of different hair products throughout my life, from fruits to real products, I've done and tried all the kind of things that they say they are good for your hair, even putting egg whites, and oatmeal as a hair mask (ugly truth).
So yes, I've learned a lot about the nutrients and best ingredients that the hair really needs.

With that being said, I feel quite an expert when I'm speaking about products and brands in this topic especially. Right now, I'm obsessed with waves so here is one of my current favorite hair brand's which is The Ouai
Here are my favorite products that I've tried from this brand and all the things that I recommend you guys to try to achieve any kind of curls/waves.

Let's get started with the products:

You don't need an entire collection to achieve the perfect curls, I recommend 5 basic products to get manageable and shiny waves.

1.  Meet The Memory mist
This product is made to protect your hair from the heat which is essential when you are using either a hair curl or iron straightener, it is also made to extend the shape and texture of any hairstyle, this means that it keeps your waves together for a longer period of time.

Seriously, this product has been everything to me because I remember when I use to wash my hair 1 or 2 days before getting my waves done so they will last me longer, well...with this product this task is not necessary anymore.

2. Use the best Hair Spray
As my hair is very straight I can't do my waves without using any Hair Spray, they are different levels of intensity for this product, I like to use the medium.
To be honest, I have been loving this hair spray because the ones that I've purchased before they tend to very sticky to the point you can't even brush your hair, this one is totally the opposite.

3. For Loose and Effortless Waves, get The Ouai Wave Spray
I remember that I first got this product in the travel size because I randomly saw it next to the cashier in Sephora and I fell in love with it after a couple of uses.
I feel this product is like a 2x1 because is like a perfume for your hair and it also does all the job, it gives a nice and effortless look to those loose waves.

4. End up your routine with 3 drops of Hair Oil
This is The Ouai best seller oil and I can totally tell why.
This oil is all about getting deeper hydration of your hair, it makes your hair to look shiny and healthy, plus it is also a UV protectant!

5. Last but not least, Anti-Frizz Hair Sheets
These sheets are made with coconut oil, hemp paper, and shea butter and to be honest I think
technology went too far when they launched this product because they are so on point, practical and easy to carry. The pack includes 15 sheets. I like to keep one inside my purse and I'm more likely to use them more afterward when I'm outside of the house and things can get frizzy you all know.

What to Watch on Netflix This Weekend

Is funny how my Fridays were 5 years ago and how they are now, to be honest, staying home after a long week with a bowl of popcorns to binge-watch movies is one of the things I enjoy the most these days.
Generally, on Fridays, my boyfriend and I take turns when it comes to picking movies and series we want to watch.

I'm listing all the best things to watch right now:
1. Starting with the cutest movie of all, a Dog Purpose.
2. Followed by a cool comedy with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler, a Murder Mystery.
3. In Family I trust, is a funny Spanish movie.
4. Filmed in Vancouver and San Francisco, Always be my Maybe, is a love story movie.
5. Life Itself is a dramatic/ love story movie.
6. If you watched Us, you need to watch Get Out.
7. Friend Request, if you love horror movies, you need to watch this one.
8. Walk. Ride Rodeo is inspired in a true life story of a teenager who pursues her dreams after having an accident that leaves her paralytic.
9. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Zac Efron starred the life of Ted Bundy - America's horror serial killer.
10. What the Health, is a shocking documentary that emphasizes on the damages of consuming meat and dairy products. This documentary actually changed a lot of things in my diet, is very impressive.

Spring Transition Looks For Day and Night

I took these pictures on Saturday which is busy days for me usually, I wake up to make breakfast and then I get ready for a long day. I try to use my weekend time very wisely, I spare time between my blog, friends, boyfriend, and running my own personal errands, this usually involves shopping for groceries, picking up mailboxes, attending to events, taking pictures, etc.

Whenever I know my day is going to be hectic, I brainstorm all the things I need to get done in one day (bullet points on my notes are crucial!)
I like to keep everything written down so I don't forget anything, including an outfit that I can easily modify day/night in order to accomplish everything that's on my plate without complications.

Planning ahead your schedule is essential, I usually have my memo notes with me, but setting alarms is also a good task to avoid forgetting things, like take the heels with you, that top, etc.

For the Early Starters:
One thing I have been doing for a year or so is to make sure I'm comfortable with my makeup and hair, so what I usually do is:

Hair and Makeup Hacks
- I like to style my hair with waves because it makes me look so well put together, I just always need to make sure to use a strong hairspray to make it last long enough from the early morning to late hours.
- As I mentioned previously, I always plan ahead my days so when I know I'm going to have a long day I usually apply a face peel the night before to protect my pores for the next day.
- Use a primer + fixing spray, an essential if you want to keep your makeup all day long. This is a complete life-saver! and there are so many great ones in the market.
I'm linking some options down below

Outfit Hacks
Play between neutrals
Why? I will give you 8 reasons

1. Everything will match

2. You can easily stand out other colors/items like my mustard top to set an example vs the previous all-white look that I wore for the day.

3. Wear it in the day, Re-wear it at night?
No one will notice if you combine the right accessories.
4. Functional for long days.
5. You will spend less time thinking about what to wear later.
6. Less amount of stress, where you can focus on other things and still looking good.
7. It will let you be more creative if you plan it with time.
This will let you go through all the possible mix and matches you can get from your wardrobe and what pieces do you really need to buy.
8. Neutral colors never run out of Fashion.
Let's put it like this, a neutral piece is like a best friend, always by your side.
If you need to go shopping and you want to purchase something that's totally out of your comfort zone, you know that you have at home will complement perfectly with that piece you are dreaming about and if you don't have you are going to use it many's money conscious too.

You love petit bags but you also have so many things?! no biggy.
When you live in a big city and distances are crazy you learn a lot on this, believe me, I have mastered this task so well now that being practical is definitely my thing.
The solution? I carry an extra bag aside from my purse wherever I go, it doesn't need to be the biggest thing ever
I just have to store some essentials as:
- 1 Extra pair of shoes. From flats, heels or sneakers.
-2 Extra Blouse if I'm going somewhere later, an event, meeting, dinner, etc.
-3 Makeup powder and a good lipstick and done, with these 3 things I will survive an entire day away from home and looking on point from head to toe.

You are probably thinking now where am I going to store this extra bag?
Be witty and explore all your options, from your car,
gym locker (if it's close wherever you are going to), the hotel reception, etc,

Trending: How to Wear Boyfriend Shirts

Wearing my boyfriend shirts has been one of the coolest things I have done in my blog history.
Carlos, didn’t expect this at all, you know guys...sometimes they don't understand our sense of fashion they just go along with it, so showing him that I could look good with his items was part of the plan too.

Whenever you are struggling with what to wear your brother/dad/boyfriend shirt is the answer.
I honestly enjoyed this so much because there are so many ways of styling an oversized shirt and making a statement and unique outfit from it.

This is a great idea for Summer, I decided on the basic cotton shirt with a blazer to give a nice end to my outfit, I love this casual look because is comfy, light and perfect for the season.

Outfit details
Male Shirt and Sunglasses: Banana Republic
Skirt: Finding July

Now, my favorite item of all is the cotton button-up shirt, I got to say there are tons of ways to style this shirt.
I made a kind of crop-top as the denim skirt is high waisted and I wanted to create a balance of my figure.
But honestly, you can try to wear it as a light jacket, dress, and the shirt as is just open 3 to 4 buttons with a nice bralette underneath.
Lastly, I wanted to share this styling idea that I'm loving and I recently saw on Marc Jacobs Instagram page featuring Margaret Zhang using the basic bf shirt backward, which is a different and cool idea on how to style a male shirt.

How to Wear Stripes Strategically

We all have been to a point that we don't know what is the right print, texture and even color that fit us best to our body shape.
Truth is, whenever you want to wear stripes there are 3 main rules you need to know:

1. If you want to look Slimmer, Diagonal Stripes are the answer, try to wear the following items:
- Tops
- Dresses
- Skirts
- Shorts
- Pants

2. On another note, Horizontal Stripes will help you to create Balance on your figure, especially:

Horizontal Stripes on top: Will help you to create Harmony if your hips are wider than your shoulders.

Horizontal Stripes on the bottom: This one is totally the opposite from the previous one, if your shoulders are wider than your hips, then wearing a pair of pants, skirt or short will help you to create a harmony of your body shape.

3. If your plan is to look Taller, then you definitely need to wear Vertical Stripes. I'm 5'7,  and I would say that these pants made my legs look way longer than they actually are. Click through the pictures.

3 Hair Products That You Need To Start Using For a Healthy and Shiny Hair

Have you stopped to think about how many hours in a week do you invest in your hair?
Speaking from myself I would say I spend more than the usual amount as  I love to apply hair masks once a week and doing curls have always been my thing.
With that being said, we also damage it a lot! with all the heat, sometimes we don't even use the proper shampoo!! plus all the contamination and daily tasks we need to do, like exercise to set an example.

So here we are, I decided to do this post because I have been asked a lot even in the streets what do I use to have my hair always looking healthy and shine and well, my routine isn't that complicated as I only have 3 main products that I use very often if not daily.

1. Starting with the Dry Shampoo
I love using the Coconut Miracle Oil from OGX after going to the gym when I'm basically running to get to the office.
It leaves my hair like clean at least for 1 day and the smell is amazing.
I won't recommend this shampoo if you have dry hair because this one especially is very dry.
Another great option I love to use is the Coconut Exotic Tropical from Batiste, you won't go wrong with this one because it works wonderfully for all types of hair, although the scent is stronger than the previous one plus I would say my hair looks cleaner for much longer with this shampoo.

2. For your Waves

I started using the Ouai products from a couple of months now and I have been loving them.
In fact, I love to carry the wave spray in my bag because first, the travel size is perfect to carry, I love the beachy effect it gives to my waves, very effortless and it smells incredible.
3. For Straight Hair
As I like to leave my hair to rest during the week, from Monday to Thursday usually I like to keep naturally straight and so, I love to use hair oils on my ends to keep it shiny and healthy.
Two years ago, I got the opportunity to work with a local brand called Redavid, I fell in love with their Orchid Line, which I rebuy because it works incredibly.
The oil that I use after my hair is dry is the Orchid Oil Treatment, it comes in two sizes, I have the smaller one, you don't need to use much of it because it's greasy obviously with one-two drops is more than perfect, you will see the difference immediately.

Summer Style: 5 Ways to Elevate a White Simple Dress

With Summer just around the corner, I wanted to share these 5 tips that will help you visualize how to turn a simple white dress into a classy/trendy look.

1. Get extra, speaking of your accessories, of course.
Why? This is one of the ways to elevate your look. For example: Look at the big black and gold ring, I personally love how bold yet elegant it looks especially because I don't have too many things going on in this look, also, speaking of it, I decided to include texture which is really important to the outfit so it doesn't look super basic, I added this leather clutch that I'm currently obsessed with as it is very practical and so bold as well.
One last thing, the sunglasses. I tried to pair all my accessories very good here but with an idea of bringing an effortless look overall. I love the contrast of these 3 items together and at the end, the way they paired with all the pieces that I picked for this outfit.
In this post, I styled a classy white dress and turned it into something casual yet sophisticated for any time of the week.

2. Thinking about Shoes:
The greatest thing of wearing a neutral piece is that you can decide the colors, style, and design of any item you want.
I love styling chic dresses with sneakers because it gives an effortless vibe.
Another great thing is that if you have plans for later you will only need to change your shoes and nothing else.

Being practical is everything, there is nothing better than feeling comfortable with what you are wearing, getting all your tasks done within a fashionable way is so doable with the sneaker trend.

3. Now, Speaking of the hair...
Right now, they are so many ways to style your hair, have you seen the hair clip/pin trend? I'm sure you do and I'm so into it, you can create a whole look from this.
I really love curling my hair, I have the T3 Whirl Trio Interchangeable Wand and I love it because I'm able to create a look between waves and curls.
I really wanted to stand out from the regular way I've seen these hair clips before so this is why I pulled my hair to the back and added these clips.

You can find great options here:
Etta Collective
Yes Style

4. Include a Statement Blazer
This fashion- forward item has turned into a big trend nowadays.
The main reason? They are so many ways to style it.
To me, its all about the silhouette, cut and fabric.
I love this one in particular because is in tweed with big and gold buttons so it gives a very sophisticated yet casual end, I've styled it in so many ways, with mom jeans, a pastel look, and all white everything.
Shop the Jacket here

5. Add motion, but how?
Although I picked a white simple dress I really wanted to make sure to give a little fun to the outfit, so in this case, pick something that you can get playful around, this can be: any statement sleeves, a nice cleavage, ruffles and or flares.

I have linked some examples at the end of this post.

5 Ingredient Pancakes You Must Try

Since I've always been a morning girl, I decided to share one of my favorite and calorie wise recipes:
The Energy Boost Pancakes
This recipe will feed up to 2 persons.
Following this recipe is so easy! You will only need 5 main ingredients.

Let's get started!
For the mixture you will need:
- (2) x 1/4 Cup of egg whites. If you are vegan you can add tofu instead.
- 1/3 Cup of Oatmeal or Oatmeal flour to get a better consistency
- (2) ripped bananas, mashed
- 1/2 Tsp of Cinnamon
-1/4 Tsp of Baking Powder
Optional Ingredients:
- 1 Scoop of protein powder
Time and Process:
Mixing all the ingredients shouldn't take more than 5 minutes,
Start with: Whisking the egg whites until you get them to snow
Second: Mix the eggs whites carefully with the oatmeal flour, the mashed bananas, cinnamon, baking powder, and the scoop of protein if you have it with you, all these until you get a homogeneous consistency.
Third: With a big spoon start doing big circle shapes to put them after in a frying pan.

How to decorate them:
This process is very optional, I opt to put a layer of greek yogurt on top to make like an appearance of a  "cream",  then I added the sliced bananas with coconut and carob chips as the last step.
and Voilá! Simple, healthy and super delicious!

3 Products You Should Try From Pixi Beauty

Being a Pixie ambassador has given me the opportunity to try a big percentage of their products.
Considering the fact that every skin is different, I will speak directly from my point of view.

What type of skin do you have?
This is the main factor you need to consider before you shop for any beauty product.
My skin type is a combination of dry and oily skin,
With this being considered, is time to move forward!

This product is amazing for dry skin, if you have oily skin please forget about this product.
I received my first bottle during winter and it kept my face hydrated in the cold season, the smell is great, you will the difference after using it for 7 days.

This product is great for eye bags, dark circles, and eye puffiness.
I've stored mine inside the fridge to get better results, so far I'm very happy using it twice a week.

I love this mask when I get breakouts all of a sudden.
The mud helps you to balance the skin, what this mask does is that it draws out all the impurities after 15 minutes.
The Glow Mud Mask is one of the signature products of Pixie

Zara Favourites: Pants To Live By This Spring

I can't recall the season that I started mixing and matching cool pants around, with summer around the corner I wanted to give you some style ideas to transition from Spring to Summer, these are all under $50.00 which is great!
Zara has been one of my favorite brands whenever I'm trying to get nice and affordable pieces.
One of the things I have been doing for a while is shopping after or before peak hours start, this is commonly between 11:00am on the weekends or just before they close in the week, I've found that I can avoid all that chaos and actually find better pieces as there are no many customers inside this store.
So here are my favorite pieces under $50.00
